President Muhammadu Buhari: leads in Lagos.

President Muhammadu Buhari, Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is in early lead as INEC releases presidential election results of 15 local government areas in Lagos State.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the APC has won in all the 15 local government results declared so far.

President defeated his closest rival Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

APC won in Apapa, Ikorodu, Ibeju-Lekki, Ikeja, Epe, Badagry and Lagos Island local government areas election results announced and submitted.

Other local government where the APC has been leading are Agege, Ifako Ijaiye, Lagos Mainland, Mushin, Oshodi-Isolo, whereas PDP defeated APC in Surulere, Eti-Osa and Ojo in the results already declared.

The elections results had been presented and accepted by the state collation officer, Prof. Felix Salako, the Vice Chancellor, University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun.

The collation officer for Apapa LGA, Abiodun Babalola, who read the results, said that the APC polled 18,170 votes while PDP scored 11, 295 votes in the council.

Apart from the People Coalition Party (PCP) that scored 238 votes and African Democratic Congress (ADC) that polled 108 votes, all other 69 political parties scored less than 100 votes each in the council.

According to Babalola, out of the total registered voters of 186, 649, only 33, 095 were accredited for the poll.

He added that the total valid votes were 30, 680, the rejected voted were 1914 while the total votes cast were 32, 594.

The collation officer for Ibeju-Lekki LGA, Prof. Abduhamid Suleiman, presenting the results, said that APC polled 12,179 votes while the closest rival party, PDP scored 9, 222 votes.

According to Suleiman, out of the total registered voters of 109, 731, only 26,568 were accredited for the poll.

He said that the total valid votes were 24, 668, the rejected voted were 1327 while the total votes cast were 25, 995.

He added that the total valid votes were 36, 021, the rejected voted were 1967 while the total votes cast were 37, 988..

For Epe LGA, the collation officer, Dr Babatunde Adeoye said that APC polled 17, 710 votes while the PDP scored 13, 306 votes.

Also, the collation officer for Ikorodu LGA, the Collation Officer, Ilupeju Akanbi said that APC polled 40, 719 votes while the PDP got 21,252 votes.

The Collation Officer for Badagry LGA, Prof.Adetokunbo Demiloye said that APC polled 21, 417 votes while PDP polled 17, 939.

The collation officer for Lagos Island LGA, Dr Adepoju Tejumade while presenting the council results said that the APC polled 27, 452 votes while the PDP got 7396 votes.

Prof. Carol Opara, the Ikeja LGA collation officer, said that APC polled 23, 638 votes while the PDP 21, 518 votes in the council.

In Ifako Ijaiye LGA, APC polled 33, 419 votes while the PDP scored 18,100 votes while in Mushin LGA, APC polled 43, 543 and the PDP had 20, 277.

In Oshodi/Isolo LGA, the APC polled 29, 860 and PDP polled 28, 806, whereas in Lagos Mainland, APC polled 22,684 and PDP 15, 137.

In Agege LGA, APC scored 36, 443 and PDP got 16, 497 whereas in Surulere LGA, APC polled 30, 621 while the PDP garnered 31,603.

Meanwhile, in Ojo and Eti-Osa LGAs, the PDP polled 29, 019 votes and 25, 216 votes respectively to defeat APC candidate who polled 24, 333 and 20, 962 respectively.

The results from Alimosho, Kosofe, Somolu and Amuwo-Odofin and of Ajeromi-Ifelodun LGA are still being awaited.

Buhari Wins Seven Of Nine Borno LGs

Buhari has also won seven of the 27 Local Government Areas in Borno State , as election result collation is progressing in the state .

The exercise , presided over by the state ’ s Presidential Returning Officer , Prof. Saminu Abdulrahaman, said Buhari scored the highest votes cast in seven of the 27 local government areas as indicated in the results so far submitted for collation by the returning officers of the councils .

The councils were Nganzai , Mobbar, Dikwa, Abadam , Guzamala, Gubio and Magumeri .

The presidential election results so far collated indicated that Buhari was taking the lead against Atiku , his closest opponent.

The results as announced by the Returning Officer in charge of Nganzai, Dr A . Fusami , showed that the APC candidate scored 6 , 804 as against the 975 votes scored by the PDP ’ s candidate .

In Mobbar, Baba Shehu , the Returning Officer , declared that Buhari polled 13, 122 votes while Atiku scored 280 votes .

For Dikwa; the Returning Officer , Dr. J . Ibrahim, disclosed that the APC candidate scored 17, 805 against the 100 votes scored by the PDP candidate .

Dr Ahmed Musa, the Returning Officer in charge of Abadam , said the APC candidate polled 5, 907 while the PDP candidate got 270 votes .

The Returning Officer in charge of Guzamala, Dr Zarma Alhaji , announced that Buhari polled 5, 370 votes against the 521 votes scored by Atiku .

Also , Dr Kachalla Mohammed , the Returning Officer in charge of Gubio , declared that the APC candidate polled 10 , 207 votes while the PDP standard bearer got 510 votes .

Dr Babagana Gambo, the Returning Officer in charge of Magumeri , announced that Buhari polled 12 , 739 against the 694 votes scored by Atiku .

Buhari Leads In 7 Out of 9 Announced LGAs Results In Gombe

Buhari is leading Atiku in Gombe State , according to the results of nine Local Government Areas announced on Sunday.

Gombe is a PDP state being governed by Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwambo , who is running for the Senate on the PDP platform .

The results of Saturday ’ s presidential and National Assembly elections received in Gombe, show that the APC is ahead of the PDP in seven of the nine LGAs in results announced.

NAN reported that the collation was being presided over by Prof. Kyari Mohammed, Vice Chancellor , Modibbo Adama University of Technology , Yola .

The presidential election results from Gombe LGA showed that the APC polled 86, 162 votes , while PDP scored 7, 634 votes .

In Nafada LGA , the APC scored 15, 417 votes while the PDP scored 5, 792 votes .

In Yamaltu – Deba LGA , the APC scored 56 , 157 votes to defeat the PDP which scored 13, 248 votes .

In Dukku LGA , the APC scored 36 , 010 votes against PDP ’ s 7 , 435 while in Kwami LGA , the APC polled 36 , 317 to beat the PDP which had 6, 614 votes .

In Balanga LGA , the APC scored 29 , 647 to defeat PDP which had 14 , 614 while in Kaltungo LGA , the APC scored 20 , 944 against PDP ’ s 20 , 733 .

However , the PDP defeated the APC in Shongom and Billiri LGAs.

In Shongom LGA , the PDP scored 12 , 871 votes against APC ’ s 9 , 642 while in Billiri LGA , the APC scored 15, 331 votes while the PDP scored 21 , 328 votes .

Buhari Wins 6 More LGAs In Niger

President Muhammadu Buhari and presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress has won in six more Local Government Areas of Niger in the just concluded Presidential election.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the collation was being presided over by Prof. Anjela Freeman Mary of the Federal University, Lokoja, at the INEC office , Minna.

Buhari defeated PDP presidential candidate , Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in 6 more Local Council areas of Niger state .

NAN reports that Buhari had earlier won in Munya , Edati, Bosso , Gurara , Rafi and Suleja Local Government Areas .

Prof. Jonathan Isa , collation officer, Tafa Local Government Area, said Atiku scored 12 , 778 votes , while Buhari scored 15, 176 votes cast during Feb . 23, presidential and National Assembly elections .

Prof. Kassim Isa , collation officer, Agura Local Government Area, said that Buhari scored 8, 811 votes while Atiku scored 5, 588 votes .

Prof. Yusuf Abubakar, collation officer,
Magama Local Government Area, said that the Buhari scored 22 , 529 votes , while Atiku scored 1 , 501 votes .

Dr Jibril Altahiru , collation officer Paikoro Local Government Area, said Atiku scored 12 , 494 votes , while Buhari scored 24 , 690 votes
Prof. Jonathan Kolo , collation officer, Chanchaga Local Government Area, said Buhari scored 62, 707, while Atiku scored 14 , 220 votes .

For Shiroro LGA , Buhari scored 29, 213 , while Atiku scored 10 , 212 as announced by Prof . Ishaya Gamba , the collation officer for the council .

NAN report that the presiding officer announced that collation of more results will resume later in the day .

Buhari Wins 12 Out Of 16 LGs Declared By INEC In Ogun

The All Progressives Congress Presidential candidate , President Muhammadu Buhari
has won 12 local governments out of 16 local governments declared so far by the Independent National Electoral Commission .

But, the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential candidate , Atiku Abubakar won the remaining four local governments out of the 16 local governments so far declared .

Ogun State has 20 local government areas .

Buhari leading Atiku in 10 Kano LGAs

President Muhammadu Buhari is ahead of Atiku Abubakar, his main challenger in the election, in 10 out of the 44 local government areas of Kano state.

Kano is the stronghold of the president but Atiku pulled a surprise when he campaigned in the ancient city two weeks ago.

The Sani Abacha Stadium where he used as filled beyond capacity.

But at the end of collation of results by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in 10 LGAs, Buhari is in clear lead.

In Tofa local government area,  Mohammed Murtala, returning officer for the local government, announced that the Buhari scored 19,984 while Atiku polled 7,732 votes.

In Madobi, the local government of Rabiu Kwankwaso, a strong ally of Atiku, Buhari secured 26,110 votes ahead of Atiku’s 13,111.

At Garun Malam, Buhari garnered 23,810 votes while Atiku scored 4,861 votes. In Bagwai local government. In Kunchi Buhari scored 20,375 and Atiku 4,983.

In Gabasawa, Buhari scored 24,420, while Atiku had 6,130. In Bunkure, the APC secured 7,232, while PDP got 9,528. In Rimin Gado, Buhari scored 20,589 while Atiku secured 10, 305.

In Karaye local government, the president scored 23,023 ahead of his rival who 8,265.

In Dawakin Tofa, the local government area of Abdullahi Ganduje, the governor, Buhari had 37,417 votes while Atiku polled 6,507.

The collation of results is ongoing while INEC has announced that the final results will be announced on Monday.

Nigeria Decides: Buhari Wins Own Polling Unit With 523 Votes, PDP 3

President Muhammadu Buhari has won his own polling unit in the presidential poll .

Buhari, who is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress , polled 523 votes to beat the Peoples Democratic Party , which scored three ( 3 ) votes .

The President ’ s unit is Polling Unit 003 in Sarkin Yara Ward A in Daura , Katsina State.

The unit has 898 registered voters.
Sorting and counting of votes ended at 4 .22 pm.

Buhari Floors Atiku At Obasanjo’s Polling Unit

President Muhammadu Buhari defeated Atiku Abaubakar, his main challenger, at the polling unit of ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital, on Saturday.

While the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured 87 votes in the presidential election, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got just 18 votes.

Obasanjo had picked Atiku over Buhari, advising the president to quit politics.
