‘Wax my balls’ transgender activist targets another immigrant beauty salon with human rights complaint

Transgender activist Jessica Yaniv has filed another human rights complaint against a Canadian beauty salon after workers refused to wax Yaniv’s male genitalia.

The latest complaint comes against She Point Beauty Studio, which offers Brazilian bikini waxes and leg waxes. The salon is run by East Indian women who are part of the Sikh religion. They rejected Yaniv’s request for waxes based on religious and cultural reasons, according to the Justice Centre, which is defending the women.

“Women have a constitutional right not to be compelled to touch biological males in an intimate or highly personal manner if they are not comfortable doing so,” Jay Cameron, an attorney with the Justice Centre, said in a Tuesday statement. “Like male genital waxing, our client does not offer male leg waxing services to the public, and we intend to vigorously defend against this targeted harassment on behalf of our client.”

Bloomberg sees California as model for U.S.

The Democrat presidential candidate and former New York City mayor likes a lot of what he sees in the Golden State and thinks its efforts on climate change, gun control and criminal justice reform sets a benchmark for other states to emulate.

I think that California can serve as a great example for the rest of this country, Bloomberg told supporters at the opening of his Angeles headquarters.

Yes, there are problems, including homelessness, struggling public schools and scarce, costly housing. But California is something the rest of the country looks up to, Bloomberg said. California has been a leader in an awful lot of things.

I learned this week from Employees @ Sam’s Club on 13 in Salisbury the following.

Employees who report to duty at 6 to 7am and employees who close that store bw 9 and 11pm have been threatened and harrassed.

Most recently on Wednesday January 8, 2019 at 630am
Five men Identified as of Muslim descent, were hanging out in the back parking lot of Sam’s, attempting to lure Sam’s employees to come near to their vehicle; as others circled around one Sam’s employee.

That Sam’s employee thwarted the robbers by saying he was armed, and quickly moved to get into Sam’s door.

I wanted to let readers know, they must be aware of their surroundings in the parking lots of Sam’s and surrounding areas as you shop.

With three Police Agencies in the region;

as citizens and employees of Sam’s Club,

WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO RIDE THROUGH THOSE AREAS, AND ID THOSE WHO APPEAR TO BE UP TO NO GOOD AT 6AM OR 10 PM IN AND AROUND DARK AREAS OF THE STORE PARKING LOTS FOR SAFETY REASONS.

To Protect Chesapeake Bay, Governor Hogan Directs Attorney General to Pursue Legal Actions Against Pennsylvania and EPA

We Have a Generational Responsibility to Protect the Bay, and We Simply Cannot Afford to Fall Short of These Shared Obligations

ANNAPOLIS, MDGovernor Larry Hogan today directed Attorney General Brian Frosh to pursue legal actions against the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in order to protect Chesapeake Bay restoration efforts. Since his campaign for governor in 2014, Governor Hogan has repeatedly called on upstream statesincluding Pennsylvaniato step up and take responsibility for sediment and debris that pours into the Chesapeake Bay via the Susquehanna River.

We have a generational responsibility to protect the Bay, and we simply cannot afford to fall short of these shared obligations, writes Governor Hogan. Therefore, I ask that you commence litigation against the EPA and Pennsylvania, and in close coordination with the Maryland Department of the Environment.

Read the governors letter to the Attorney General here.

In August, after watershed states submitted their final Chesapeake Bay clean-up plans to the federal administration, the governor expressed alarming concerns about Pennsylvanias lack of progress on clean water goals and called on the EPA to use its robust oversight powers to hold states accountable.

Pennsylvania, which is under enhanced or backstop federal oversight due to failed pollution reduction efforts, has proposed a draft Phase III Watershed Implementation Plan (WIP) under which it would fall drastically short of its agreed-upon 2025 pollution reduction targets, writes Governor Hogan. The EPA currently appears to have no intention of taking the necessary action to ensure Pennsylvanias compliance with its commitments.

Governor Hogan is serving his second term as chairman of the Chesapeake Executive Council, which consists of the governors of the six watershed states, the mayor of the District of Columbia, the chair of the Chesapeake Bay Commission, and the EPA administrator. As governor, he has committed an historic $5 billion toward wide-ranging Bay restoration initiatives, and was recently successful in securing an increase in federal funding for Bay cleanup.

A Comment Worthy Of A Post 1-7-20

Special thanks to Shane Baker and everyone that has shown support for the Deputies injured in the line of duty. For a Deputy to openly show support and not conceal his identity while making his comments I felt compelled to share my story to let everyone know how I was injured. My injury occurred while I was rendering aid to a lady trapped inside an overturned vehicle following an auto accident.

The injury I suffered dramatically changed my life forever and left me needing multiple surgeries to walk again and attempt to reclaim my independence. After my first surgery I was told that I would not walk again without the assistance of crutches, a walker or a cane unless I had a second surgery. I am now going through the process of of healing and walking with pain & limitations. I am thankful that I am able to walk again. In my career for the past 29 years I’ve faithfully served the citizens of Wicomico County.

Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais kicked off the 77th annual awards show by telling the night’s soon-to-be winners not to use their acceptance speeches to make political statements.

“So, if you do win an award tonight, dont use it as a platform to make a political speech, right?” the actor and comedian said during his opening monologue. “Youre in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg.

He added, “If you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent and your God, and f— off.”
