Thugs stabbed 20 year-old photographer to death ‘for giving them a weird stare’

An Arsenal fan on the way to a match was stabbed to death by an attacker who accused him of ‘staring at him weirdly’ on a tube platform, friends have said.

Photographer Tashan Daniel, 20, was getting the tube to the Emirates stadium to watch the game between his team and Nottingham Forest when he was the victim of an apparently random attack at Hillingdon station.

A friend, who described Tashan as the ‘softest guy’, said: ‘I’d heard someone on the opposite platform said he was staring at him weirdly.’

Around two hours later, a 22-year-old, named locally as Osvaldo Carvalho, was brutally attacked and killed near Ealing Common.

The Met Police confirmed today the two murders – which are believed to be the 113th and 114th violent deaths in London this year – are being treated as separate incidents.

Passengers were in tears after witnessing the brutal stabbing which police said began on the train and spilled onto the platform.

Shouts and screams were heard from the platforms as shocked commuters rushed out of Hillingdon Station in north west London.

Luke Flynn, a colleague and former schoolmate of Mr Daniel, said: ‘He will be missed my his friends family and work colleagues.

‘He was really involved in his track running. I’m pretty sure he was one of the better runners in the UK. He was always doing it every weekend. He was doing really well in the 100m and 60ms.

‘He was a nice guy, quiet, and just got on with his work. It’s sickening. It’s horrible to hear, he was such a nice guy, he was always up for helping. Everyone was taken aback when they heard.’

A spokesman for Arsenal FC said: ‘Everyone at Arsenal Football Club is shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the tragic passing of Arsenal fan Tashan Daniel.

Neighbours of mum who was mauled to death by dogs tell how they bravely tried to fight off the animals

The neighbours of a mother-of-three who died after being attacked by her two dogs at her house in Cheshire have revealed how they bravely tried to fight off the crazed animals.

The victim, named locally as 44-year-old Elayne Stanley, was found with serious injuries and died at the scene at her home in Widnes.

Neighbours say it was Ms Stanley’s own dogs, which are Mastiff-types called Billy and DJ, that attacked her

The 44-year-old’s terrified three children – her 22-year-old daughter Louise, along with her twin daughters, aged around 12 – were in the terraced house at the time the out-of-control pets pounced.

Now, neighbours have shared how they tried to fight off the two crazed dogs as they mauled and then horrifically killed their owner in her living room.

Brave neighbour Carl Rees managed to burst into the victim’s locked home, at around 5.15pm on Tuesday, and he battled to keep the dogs away from a heavily-bleeding Mrs Stanley.

He threw bricks and other objects to try and distract the animals, but she had already suffered a fatal wound to her neck and died at the scene.

He was also heard to yell, ‘I can’t get at her,’ as he valiantly tried to come to her rescue.

Mr Rees said: ‘I got the dogs off her. There were two dogs, massive, bigger than mine.

‘I went in to attack the dogs with some of my tools.

‘I couldn’t get close to them, I threw bricks at the dog attacking her. I managed to get them off.

‘They scurried into the garden and the other neighbour tried to cover the puncture wounds with towels, I tried CPR until the paramedics got here.’

Next-door neighbour Jason Brennan said he was in the back garden when he saw Ms Stanley’s two young children were ‘hanging out the back window’, screaming.

He said: ‘I could hear the dogs growling.

‘From the front garden, I could see Elayne getting attacked inside. She was getting dragged about.

‘The dogs were pulling her everywhere.’

Locals said there had not been any recent incidents involving the dogs, but some residents said they were large animals who would jump up excitedly at the window when people walked past.

Mother-of-two Savannah Hayes, 22, another close neighbour, who was outside the Stanley house, said: ‘The dogs were just not budging [from attacking Elayne].’

Another neighbour Marie Airey said: ‘I heard it all kick off. The screams were terrible.

‘I heard someone shout, ”Get towels, get an ambulance!”

‘All hell broke loose…those poor kids.

‘I’ve got a 10-year-old daughter who has stroked the female dog, Billy. She’s been for sleepovers.’

The dogs, not thought to be a banned breed, called DJ and Billy, were chased by police officers who arrived at the scene.

One of the dogs was shot dead with two bullets, at around 9.30pm, as cops struggled to tranquillise and then contain it.

The second is being kept in a secure kennel.

No arrests have been made, and so far, it is thought there may not be any future criminal prosecution as the dogs were legal and their owner has died in the incident.

Steuben awards contract to Werth Construction

BATH — Bids for an extensive overhaul of the Steuben County Office Building could begin soon, with the county Legislature agreeing Monday to hire Werth Construction Services, LLC, of Binghamton as the project’s construction manager. The county will pay Werth roughly $484,000 to oversee the project, now estimated at a cost of $10 million. The plan — mandated by the state Office of Court Administration (OCA) — will convert the majority of the space of the third floor in the County Office Building into court-related offices and courtrooms. The plan is expected to take four years to complete and to provide a more efficient, secure and effective court system. Expected changes include:

· The Administration, Planning and Legislative offices and chambers will move out of the main complex and into the Annex. The Annex now houses the county Board of Elections, Records, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Steuben County and conference rooms.

· Departments on the first and second floors of the County Office Building, such the Department of Motor Vehicles, Probation and the Department of Social Services will remain in place.

· The Department of Public Works will likely move from the second floor to the first floor and the County Clerk’s Office will remain at its current location in the county Courthouse.

· The District Attorney’s offices will move to the county Courthouse and the county Public Defender’s offices would remain in the Surrogate Courthouse/Balcom House.

Julian Assange’s father fears the US government will ‘murder’ his son if he is extradited to America

Julian Assange’s biological father has claimed the Australian activist will be murdered if he is extradited to the United States.

Assange father John Shipton claimed his son is in danger after the UK government cleared the way for his extradition to the US where he faces computer hacking charges.

Assange, who spent almost seven years in the Ecuadorean embassy, was due to be released from prison last Friday, but was remanded in continuing custody until his extradition hearing in February.
Assange, 48, was jailed in June to serve a 50-week jail term, almost seven years after he sought asylum in the Ecuadorean embassy to avoid extradition to Sweden where he wanted in connection with sexual offence allegations.

The Australian was due to be released from prison on September 22, but he now faces extradition to the United States to face computer hacking allegations.

It is not known if Kylie’s partner, rapper Travis Scott, was with her.

Pictured! Man r.a.p.e.s colleague to death, keeps corpse

A 27-year-old man, Adenuga Eniola has been arrested by men of Ogun State Police Command for allegedly r3ping a co-worker, identified as Faith Jude to death at Lafenwa, in the Abeokuta, Ogun state.

The Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama paraded the suspect alongside other 18 suspects for various crimes such as r3pe, robbery and cultism, among others at the Police State headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta .

Makama was represented by  Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Edward Ajogun, said the suspect, a mobile money agent, was arrested for his involvement in the murder after he went to report the incident at Lafenwa  Police Station.

He said the suspect reportedly committed the crime on September 16 and reported last Thursday at
the Police Station.

The Commissioner of Police said the suspect told his men at the station that he discovered the lifeless body of his co-worker, covered with canopy at the front of their shop.

According to Makama, the suspect took advantage of the downpour on a fateful day to perpetuate his heinous act by allegedly gagging the mouth of the deceased with a piece of cloth to stop her from screaming while he was r3ping her.

The Police boss further explained that Eniola kept the body of the deceased in his shop for three days after the incident but was forced to report following the odour oozing from the place he kept the body.

He added that the suspect however reportedly confessed to the crime after he was grilled over the death of his colleague.

He said, “On close examination, it was discovered that there were marks of violence on the body of the deceased which raised the suspicion that she was murdered.

“Based on the discovery, the complainant, Adenuga Eniola was professionally interrogated and it was discovered that he was the person that actually killed the victim.

“He confessed to the crime and stated that the deceased, a co-worker came to the shop to collect money for their boss.

“He took advantage of the downpour then and grabbed the deceased, gagged her mouth with a piece of cloth while he raped her.

“Having had his way with the girl, he discovered that she had given up the ghost due to suffocation. He is under arrest with the incident, while the case is undergoing investigation at the Homicide Section of the command’s Criminal Investigation Department.”

However, the suspect who claimed to have regretted his action begged the government to tamper justice with mercy.

He said, “I regret my action because I did not know what came over me. I am not a womaniser, I don’t know why I involved myself in this.”

‘Four nights of poor sleep can make you gain weight’

Just four nights of poor sleep can change the way the body stores fat and increase the risk of obesity, a new small study suggests.

Researchers say participants who were given a high-calorie meal felt less satisfied after eating it while sleep deprived than when they ate it well-rested.

They found that eating rich meals after lack of sleep led to a higher levels of insulin the body and the faster clearance of lipids, or fats, from the meal.

This fat is stored in the body and, in turn, leads to weight gain.

The team, from Pennsylvania State University, says the findings add further evidence to why lack of sleep is harmful and says doctors need to educate their patients about forming good sleep habits.
The National Sleep Foundation recommends that adults get between seven and nine hours of sleep every night.

However, a 2015 study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that about 50 percent of US adults sleep fewer than the recommended hours.

Insufficient sleep has been shown to raise the risk of obesity, diabetes, heart disease and even cancer – but researchers don’t know much about the underlying mechanisms that cause this.

For the new study, published in the Journal of Lipid Research, recruited 15 healthy male participants in their 20s.

The men first spent a week getting 10 hours of sleep a night at home and then spent ten nights at the Clinical Research Center at Penn State.

Osinbajo waives immunity to clear name

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, has declared his readiness to waive his constitutional immunity to “enable the most robust adjudication” of several baseless allegations, insinuation and falsehoods against his person and office.

Prof. Osinbajo made this declaration in a tweet he personally authored this afternoon.

Below is the full text of his tweet:

“In the past few days, a spate of reckless and malicious falsehoods have been peddled in the media against me by a group of malicious individuals.

“The defamatory and misleading assertions invented by this clique had mostly been making the social media rounds anonymously.

“I have today instructed the commencement of legal action against two individuals, one Timi Frank and another Katch Ononuju, who have put their names to these odious falsehoods.
“I will waive my constitutional immunity to enable the most robust adjudication of these claims of libel and malicious falsehood.”

Timi Frank, an ally of Atiku Abubakar peddled the first set of allegations, alleging that Osinbajo received N90billion from the Federal Inland Revenue Service for the 2019 election and that Osinbajo’s “ ongoing travails” was because Osinbajo could not account for the money.
