Jacksonville AL October 8 2019
Twelve men have been now been arrested over a string of alleged statutory rapes of underage girls at Jacksonville State University, police have said.
The men range in age from 18 to 22-years-old, with 11 of them facing charges of second-degree rape, and one is charged with sodomy in the second degree.
The investigation by police led to the first nine arrests during a two-day span in mid-September, with the latest arrests taking the number to 12.
Several of the suspects are students at the school, NBC News reported.
Those previously arrested are: Brandon Reece Barton, 19; Avory Triston Cosby, 20; Walker Harris, 18; James Lyle, 19; Christian Lane Homesely, 19; Caleb Matthew Lafollette, 21; Kyler Taran Morgan, 18; Seth Robert Emmenegger, 22 and Daniel Ralph George, 18.
They are accused of having sexual encounters with two underage girls over a course of several months at or near the school in Jacksonville, Alabama.
Investigators said earliest contact between the girls and the group of men was in January.
Nine arrests were made during a two-day span in mid-September, including (left to right) Daniel Ralph George, 18; James Lyle, 19; Christian Lane Homesely, 19
Caleb Matthew Lafollette, 21, arrested for participating in rapes of two underage girls
Brandon Reece Barton, 19 is charged in connection to a series of underage rapes at an Alabama school
Avory Triston Cosby, 20, was arrested as part of string of underage rapes
Also among those arrested are  (left to right) Caleb Matthew Lafollette, 21; Brandon Reece Barton, 19; Avory Triston Cosby, 20
Investigator Jay Harrington of the Calhoun-Cleburne Major Crimes Unit says the alleged victims are between 12 and 16.
However, Bill Broome, an attorney for one of the defendants told WBRC that one of the alleged victims portrayed herself as a 19-year-old on social media.
He said: ‘This is just wrong to label these young men as rapists and potentially have to register as sex offenders.’
Broome went to tell WBRC that his client is the real victim and believes the girl should face charges.
But attorney Roger Appell told the station: ‘The fact that she lied about her age on Tinder on Facebook is of no consequence.’
Jacksonville State University attorney Sam Monk told NBC: ‘The girls were making contact through social media connections and then coming onto our campus or adjacent to our campus to meet these individuals.’
He said at least three of the individuals arrested had no link to the school.
University police are increasing patrols of campus security and in another layer of safety, students are now required to show proof that they are a resident before entering a residence hall, ABC 33/40 reported.
An emergency board meeting of trustees was held on September 21 after campus police were alerted to six statutory rapes.
The school added in the statement: ‘We as an institution and as a community are committed to maintaining a secure and trusted campus environment for our students, employees, visitors and guests, and we will continue with appropriate vigilance and campus-wide education.

Scottish Glastonbury security worker lay dead in tent for 30 hours as grieving son blasts G4S bosses privateofficer.org

Glastonbury UK October 8 2019
A grandad working at the “dangerously” hot Glastonbury music festival lay dead in a tent for up to 30 hours after supervisors thought he was sleeping.
Security guard Martin Fallone, of Clydebank, near Glasgow, was discovered a day after he missed a nightshift.
His son William, 41, has criticised security firm G4S for failing to check up on his dad following the no-show.
Grandad Martin, 64, was last seen on his way back to his temporary accommodation on Saturday morning after clocking off.
When he failed to show up for work that night, G4S bosses visited his tent the following Sunday morning but believed he was inside sleeping.
Later that afternoon, on June 30, they returned and went inside to discover he was dead.
Paramedics said Martin died from a suspected heart attack.
Festival organisers had been warned by the local authority that staff were at risk from the extreme temperatures.
Experts say being exposed to hot weather can trigger heart problems as the body tries to keep cool.
Mendip Council told festival organisers nightshift staff like Martin were most at risk, emails sent to the family show.
Family ‘broken’ after Scots security guard found dead in tent at Glastonbury
William, a Glasgow office worker, said: “We want answers from G4S. They’ve failed my dad and they’ve failed the family. We don’t want them to fail anyone else.”
The Met Office issued a “Level 2” alert for the south-west of England in the days leading up to the Glastonbury Festival warning that the heatwave was “dangerous”.
The cause of Martin’s death is still unknown with further results expected later this year.
William said the family are angry about how G4S bosses have behaved in the aftermath of his death.
He said: “It’s been very cold-hearted. We’re angry that no one checked up on dad for up to 30 hours.”
Widower Martin had worked for G4S on a zero-hours contract for two years. He’d previously spent 19 years caring for wife, Janette, 62, before she died in 2014.
Martin had worked as a security guard when his two children, William and Susan, 37, were young. He was taken on by G4S to work at sporting events and concerts. But his work life was insecure with periods of inaction followed by intense 80-hour weeks.
In June, he was asked by G4S to work at the Download Festival in Leicestershire and Glastonbury in Somerset.
Coincidentally, William attended Glastonbury with other family members, including father-in-law Richard Fearn.
He said: “We were surprised when my dad said he was staying in a tent.
“An employer shouldn’t be asking workers to stay in tents in this day and age. He’d done work trips before and they always sorted out accommodation. Dad didn’t even own a tent, so I borrowed one and organised an airbed for him.”
After working at Download, Martin travelled to Glastonbury and arranged to meet his son.
William added: “It was extremely hot. Dad said he wasn’t due to work until the following night.
“We saw some bands and said goodbye at around 3am. It was the last time I’d see him. I texted him in the afternoon because I didn’t want to wake him.
“I tried contacting him again later but he never responded. It was very noisy and he was working so I wasn’t surprised.”
Martin’s movements after work remain unclear. But he finished his shift at 8am and used a meal voucher to buy his breakfast in the staff canteen. William said: “My dad wasn’t particularly good with phones.
“I didn’t think too much about texts and calls going unanswered.
“He was also working nights so I thought he must’ve been resting.”
Police called William after G4S staff made the grim discovery.
William added: “I just broke down. Police told me it wasn’t advisable to see his body. I looked around the corner and could just see his toe sticking out from under a cover.
“I wanted to know what had happened but G4S staff told police they were too upset to talk to me.”
G4S paid for Martin’s body to be transferred to Scotland. But when they arrived home, William and Richard began asking questions. It was then G4S told them he had been missing for up to 30 hours.
William added: “Some staff go missing, preferring to go to gigs instead of working but my dad wasn’t like that. He was 64. If he didn’t turn up for work, it should have started alarm bells.”
Richard said: “G4S has stopped answering our calls and only paid Martin’s wages a fortnight ago for the work he’d done before he died. We want to know how this happened.
“Why did G4S go to his tent on the Sunday morning but not go in?
“The family think it’s important that workers at Glastonbury are safe and their welfare is monitored.”
A letter sent to the family from Mendip Council said it was “shocking” Martin had been left unchecked for so long.
The council’s environmental officer Marietta Gill wrote: “I do understand it is not uncommon generally for staff and volunteers to not turn up for their shifts but I would expect a good employer to make reasonable checks.
“I work closely with Glastonbury Festivals and have been encouraging them to ensure that all people are fully aware of what work they will be expected to do and are informed of how best to look after themselves in pre-event briefing.
“This year especially we were concerned about people who were expected to sleep during the day time, as it was so hot.”
Emergency services said they treated 70 people for heat-related illnesses at the festival. Union GMB, which represents G4S workers, said: “The circumstances surrounding Mr Fallone’s death are both sad and troubling. The Glastonbury Festival generates a fortune.
“It would be a modest request of the festival organisers to ensure both they and its sub contractors are adhering to decent employment standards and living arrangements during the course of the event.”
Andy Lane, chief operating officer for G4S Secure Solutions UK, said: “Martin Fallone’s death was a tragedy and our thoughts remain with his family at this difficult time.”
A spokeswoman added G4S didn’t decide where staff stayed on the festival site. Glastonbury Festival was contacted for comment but did not respond.

Student Handcuffed, Event Shut Down, Campus Security “Punched” at Campus Concert privateofficer.org

Claremont CA October 8 2019
Late Saturday night, at an on-campus Travis Porter concert hosted by the Pomona Events Committee—a part of Pomona College’s student government—one Pomona student was handcuffed by campus security after allegedly punching campus security officers. However, after the incident, the event was shut down by campus security.
The event, which consisted of both student artists and hip-hop trio Travis Porter, was organized by the Associated Students of Pomona College’s (ASPC) events subcommittee.
According to the event description on Facebook, the organizers call Pomona College students, and those attending other institutions of the Claremont Colleges Consortium—including Harvey Mudd, Claremont McKenna, Pitzer, and Scripps Colleges—to “[j]oin us for a crazy night and see TRAVIS PORTER perform LIVE!! On Saturday October 5th at 9:30pm, prepare yourself for some amazing student artist performances, with Travis Porter coming on at 11:30pm to close the night! Open to all 5C’s [Claremont Colleges]!!! We will have KEGS for any students that are 21+ with a valid ID!!”
Because the event was terminated shortly after the arrival of Travis Porter, students were not treated to the hip-hop artist’s full set, with students barred from entering.
According to a campus safety officer, the student “punched” another campus safety officer, and was subsequently handcuffed.
The student was later handed over to the Claremont Police Department. According to photographic evidence, the student was kept on the ground while in handcuffs.
This incident is not the first time the Claremont College’s Campus Security has been involved in physical confrontation with students; last year, during the “Yule Ball” at Pomona College, campus security physically confronted students trying to enter an overcrowded venue.
Campus safety at the Claremont Colleges started wearing body cameras since August 1, prompting condemnation from student groups.

ORLANDO, Fla. October 8 2019– A woman was escorted off a plane at Orlando International Airport Sunday after boarding a Delta flight to Atlanta with neither a ticket nor identification.
A passenger said she called a flight attendant to her assigned seat when the woman refused to move.
“She said very bluntly, ‘I’m not moving,'” the passenger said.
The flight attendant tried to get the other woman out of her seat. The attendant said the woman was not listed on the manifest.
Woman: “I have 15A. I have 15A.”
Delta employee: “Maybe on a different plane.”
Woman: “No. I’m on Delta.”
The passenger said a supervisor and a pilot came over but also had no luck removing the woman.
Employees asked the woman several times for her boarding pass.
“Who knows where I threw it. I just threw it out a soon as I got on the plane,” the woman said.
Employees then asked for her ID. Witnesses said that’s when the woman held up her phone.
Woman: “Well, I’m showing you a picture ID.”
Flight attendant: “Ma’am, that’s not a government-issued ID. That’s a photo.”
Woman: “Well, this is just as good.”
Flight attendant: “No, ma’am, it’s not just as good.”
According to the passenger, the pilot called police, who were then able to remove the woman from the plane.
“They eventually told her, ‘You’re breaking federal law,'” the passenger said.
The woman left cursing, leaving passengers confused and concerned.
The passenger said she was able to get in her seat and the plane taxied down the runway but it was quickly stopped.
“We were stopped pretty quickly, and the pilot explained it was because the lady was not cooperating with TSA (the Transportation Security Administration), and she did not have a ticket to any airline at all,” the passenger said. “They could not figure out how she even got on the plane.”
After about an hour, “The plane was searched by dogs and TSA agents. Every single passenger had a pat-down, and all of our bags were searched again,” the passenger said.
The plane was eventually given the all clear and made it to Atlanta.
TSA told Channel 9 the woman was screened but did not provide any additional information.
It is not known how the woman was able to get on the plane.
Delta released a statement regarding the incident:
“Delta apologizes to customers of flight 1516 for the delay after a person not ticketed for that flight was removed from the aircraft. Security officials then directed precautionary rescreen of everyone onboard. Delta is working with local law enforcement and the Transportation Security Administration on their investigation and we are conducting our own review of this as well.”
The plane was delayed by three hours because of this. @Delta released this statement apologizing to the passengers on the flight and states they’re now conducting their own review of how the woman got on the plane. A passenger says the woman had no ID and no ticket.

Murderer of security officer released from jail with ankle monitor privateofficer.org

Houston TX October 8 2019
He was arrested for the murder of a security officer but was released from jail on the conditions that he would wear an ankle monitor.
The monitoring device is privately owned and monitored, and a fee is charged to the arrested person, not to the court or the sheriff’s department.
So, when Clint Walker, the murder suspect’s ankle bracelet bill went unpaid, the private company removed it placing him at large.
According to reports, Walker owed a little more than $300 for his ankle monitor and after failing to pay up, the vendor found Walker, took back the equipment and later notified the proper authorities.
“It effectively put our capital murder suspect more or less at large,” First Assistant District Attorney David Mitcham said to the Houston Chronicle.
In 2016, Walker allegedly shot and killed 59-year-old security guard Enrique Garcia during a botched robbery.
About two years later, Walker was released on specific conditions, which included the ankle monitor.
The company reportedly sent several notifications about Walker’s ankle monitor to a county pretrial supervision department, including his failure to make timely payments.
Walker reportedly roamed free for about two weeks but has since been captured.
There is no information as to why Walker was released early or if he’ll be allowed back out, wearing another ankle monitor.
